MY DANCE DEBUT (ages 2-3)
What is “My Dance Debut”
My Dance debut is a beginner dance program that provides education and entertainment through music, dance and movement for children brand new to dance! Classes will be offered in 30 minute sessions. This class is geared towards young dancers that have little to no dance studio experience that might be trying dance for the first time.
This class will perform one (1) dance in the end of the year recital in June.
Benefits
Coordination, body awareness, flexibility, strength, working as a team, learning to follow direction and taking turns, sharing, rhythm, stamina, and having TONS OF FUN!
ATTIRE
Leotards, tights are great! Comfortable clothing that won’t inhibit movement, is OK! We ask that dancers DO NOT wear dress-up costumes to class as they can cause safety hazards with dance movement.
NO JEWELRY OR ACCESSORIES PLEASE!
HAIR MUST BE PULLED BACK AWAY FROM FACE!
SHOES
Pink ballet slippers (we suggest canvas, but leather is OK). Any brand is OK.
Walmart, amazon, and target are great places for value.
FAQ
“What’s the different between full footed tights and transition/convertible tights?”
Convertible tights are very similar to footed tights except they have a small hole on the bottom of each foot. Why would you want tights with holes in them? They can be pulled over the foot to sit on the ankle (similarly to ankle tights) to accommodate shoe changes for classes!
“Are there specific style leotards/ballet dresses I should get?”
Nope! Just whatever your dancer will be most comfortable in. But we do encourage you to have your dancer wear leotards to class and avoid dress up clothes. We understand it’s fun to wear their Anna or Elsa dress to dance, but movements done in dance class will be inhibited by dress-up costumes and could pose a safety concern.
